Our Instructors
Jackie King
As the founder of JK Swim, I have found myself in the water for as long as I can remember. From scuba diving to sailing, most of my free-time passions require an advanced swimming ability, and in depth-knowledge for water-related activities.
Since offering private lessons in June of 2019, I have taught over 300 students. I revolve my instruction around creating a comfortable environment for your child, and teaching them the importance of remaining calm in the water. Although all of my students are different, I have yet to teach a child who has not progressed. As for my instructors, they all maintain the same qualifications as me, are trained by me, and possess the skills to put forth an exceptional lesson.

Swimming has always been apart of my life - when thinking back to my childhood, images of long days by the pool, combined with the scent of saltwater breeze comes to mind. The water became my safe place, and everyday I would look forward to jumping into the pool’s fresh escape - an experience I can’t wait to pass on by instructing for JK Swim.
Through many volunteer experiences such as coaching volleyball to the students at St. Georges Junior School, I’ve gained the skills needed in order to create a safe, and fun learning environment for all. Given my background, I’m looking forward to teaching your child how to be safe in the water, and how to love swimming.
Certifications: Standard First Aid with CPR-C, Emergency First Aid with CPR-B, National Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross.
Julia
Similar to my peer instructors, I have always held a deep passion for swimming. Such passion carried me to complete all levels of swimming and further advance to competitive swimming. Throughout my time in high-school, I discovered my love for teaching through a tutoring program for younger students.
An experience that has shaped my teaching skills was co-coaching my high school swim team. Through this role, I have led my role as a coach to teach, support, and encourage athletes in swimming to strive towards their goals and reach their full potential- while still having fun. While observing the progress my influence has made on my students, I find teaching very rewarding!
